Position Description – Business Manager
Objective or Purpose:
To ensure that camp finances, supplies and equipment are well maintained through liaison with the Director, Head Cook and Health Care Worker.
Qualifications:
- Level "G" driver's licence, photocopy to be available at camp
- Minimum 4 years driving experience
- Minimum 5 years administrative experience
- Some experience with basic bookkeeping is an asset
Time Commitment:
- 12 day camp – 2 precamp training days and 10 camper days, including clean-up
- June weekend training
- Any in-city training, conducted by Camp Committee
Duties:
- drives to town for supplies, mail or while transporting injured to hospital
- works with cook and director to determine supplies required
- ensures all money is safe and accounted for, including staff valuables
- liaises with handyman regarding any repairs needed on site
- dispenses tuck following lunch
- inventory and selling of t-shirts - keeps track of numbers
- does bookkeeping related to camp purchases
- along with Director, checks on state of equipment and supplies
- cooperates with Health Care Worker in proper garbage disposal and other sanitation matters
- is familiar with the crisis emergency response plan
- appoints a "driver" if off-site, always states location on site in case of emergency
- checks on security of buildings daily/nightly
- ensures completed financial records for the session are given to the Treasurer of the Ottawa CGIT Committee no later than 4 weeks after the session ends
