Year-Round Activities

Volunteer Committee

Volunteers are needed to assist year round in two ways. The first is the management of the physical site of the camp, while the second is the planning for the summer camping program. If you are interested in volunteering, please email

In October, we have a month-long campaign to sell honey and honey gifts and products. The Crerar family has partnered with the Ottawa CGIT Committee for over 30 years and supplies us with our honey.

Work Parties

Our program is volunteer run – and maintaining our buildings and our site takes energy and care. We organize work party weekends in the spring to get the site ready for summer use, and the fall to put it to bed for the winter. These weekends are a fun way to meet others in the Kalalla community, and a wonderful way to show support for our work.

Our site is a wonderful place to spend time and we would love to share it with you! For more information on Work Party dates or to volunteer for the next one, please email

Open House

Do you wonder what the Craft Lodge looks like? Whether there are tents on Tent Row? How many steps are there really to Waterfront? Do you wish you could see the Dining Hall where our singing raises the roof or feel the peace of Vesper Hill? Here’s your chance to see where your daughter spends her time when she is at camp. If your daughter is a prospective camper, you might both enjoy the chance to see the site.

Meet with staff and Committee members who can answer questions you may have about camp and the site and take a tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes and come enjoy a bit of time with us! Email for more Open House information.
